15 Aldi Holiday Items I’m Stocking Up on This Season

by AEDUooliu

‘Tis the season for peppermint mocha, sweet caramel, and gingerbread! Once Halloween is over, I pack up all my pumpkin spice and quickly shift into holiday mode. I know I’m not the only one because by early November, the aisles of every store are filled floor to ceiling with holiday cheer. Most importantly, Aldi didn’t waste any time swapping out their autumn items for all things holiday. The budget-friendly grocery chain’s selection of cookies, coffee, snacks, Advent calendars, and decor is what holiday dreams are made of.

On your next trip to Aldi, don’t skip the seasonal aisle. Here are my top picks for the best Aldi holiday items you should add to your cart this season. Read on for a whole lot of peppermint, gingerbread, and holiday happiness.

1. Peppermint Kettle Corn

No holiday movie marathon would be complete without a giant bowl of popcorn, and this peppermint kettle corn pairs perfectly with your favorite holiday rom-com. Aldi also has a dark chocolate-drizzled kettle corn this year, which I have been mixing into the bowl for peppermint mocha deliciousness!

2. Cheese Advent Calendar

Aldi has a wide selection of Advent calendars this year, ranging from alcohol to snacks to small trinkets. My personal favorite is this Winter Wonderland Cheese Advent Calendar Tasting Experience, which, honestly, sounds pretty magical. It comes with 24 individual servings of cheese—including Gouda, truffle cheese, and flavored cheddar—and I absolutely plan to pair this with my wine Advent calendar for a DIY tasting menu.

3. Spekulatius Spiced Cookies

These cookies are for lovers of cookie butter and those little packets of cookies you get on a flight. These cookies are a bit more gingerbread-forward than a Biscoff, but have the same crunchy, cinnamon taste that we all know and love.

4. Fudge Covered Peppermint Cremes

Is there anything more holiday than peppermint and chocolate? If you’re familiar with the chocolate-covered peppermint cookies from Trader Joe’s, then you will love these. I have yet to see those holiday Joe Joe’s back on the shelves at TJ’s, but these peppermint cremes have already found their way into my pantry this year.

5. Mini Waffle Cones

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t eat ice cream year-round, but sometimes, I really just want the sweet crunch of a waffle cone. These mini waffle cones are ice cream-free but feature delicious fillings of either hazelnut chocolate or peppermint chocolate. They make the perfect bite-sized snack when you’re craving something sweet.

6. Candy Cane Chocolate Sandwich Creme Cookies

If you’re into a more classic sandwich cookie, you don’t want to miss these candy cane chocolate ones. These Oreo-style cookies consist of a cream layer flecked with candy cane pieces and sandwiched between two chocolate cookies. In my personal experience, these pair nicely with a steaming mug of hot cocoa.

7. Peppermint Mocha Iced Coffee

You can take the girl out of New England, but you can never take the morning iced coffee habit out of the girl. Even if it’s snowing, I will be watching it come down while sipping on my iced coffee. This peppermint mocha iced coffee is creamy, flavorful, and the easiest way to enjoy a festive iced coffee whenever I want.

8. Apple Stollen Bites

Aldi is known for its selection of German foods, which are especially popular around the holidays. They offer a few variations of stollen, a classic German holiday bread featuring fruit and nuts that’s similar to a traditional fruitcake or panettone. If you don’t want to commit to a full loaf, these mini apple stollen bites are perfectly snack-sized and a great way to try out the flavor.

9. Gingerbread Hearts

It took me a while to fully appreciate the magic flavor combo of gingerbread and chocolate, but now that I know, I can’t get enough. These little gingerbread hearts are coated in chocolate and filled with a sweet apricot center. They’re spicy, sweet, and just so good.

10. Peppermint Pretzel Stars

If you love yogurt-covered pretzels, these vanilla-dipped peppermint pretzel stars are the festive upgrade you need this holiday season. Crunchy pretzels coated with vanilla yogurt and sprinkled with crushed candy cane pieces make for the perfect combo of salty and sweet. These are great for snacking on, but would also make the perfect addition to a holiday charcuterie board.

11. Caramel Brulee Coffee

I love brewing a pot of flavored coffee and enjoying those yummy smells all through the house. In addition to my seasonal peppermint mocha obsession, caramel brulee is one of my favorite holiday flavors. This coffee boasts flavor notes of caramel, toffee, and a hint of white chocolate—a perfect combination!

12. Sweet Potato Casserole

Need an easy dish to bring to a Friendsgiving dinner or a holiday potluck? This sweet potato casserole features a praline topping and is tasty enough to fool anyone into thinking it was homemade. You’ll want to grab this one quickly, though. Rumors have it that this frozen item sells out fast!

13. Gingerbread Scones

I don’t know about you, but I still have not mastered the art of making homemade scones. Luckily, these frozen gingerbread scones only require five minutes in the oven. They’re great when you’re craving a sweet breakfast treat or if you want something to snack on along with your afternoon coffee.

14. Butter Spekulatius

These sweet, buttery, crispy cookies taste like a blast from the past. They remind me of the ones that used to come in a blue metal tin, which always got turned into a sewing kit tin once all the cookies were gone (anyone else remember this from childhood?). They’re simple yet delicious and are best enjoyed with your favorite seasonal beverage.

15. Turkey Stuffing Potato Chips

Now, I can’t skip over the savory flavors of the holiday season! Although I haven’t tried these chips yet, I wanted to include them as an honorable mention. From what I’ve seen online, everyone loves a turkey stuffing potato chip! I have never been let down by a Clancy snack, so if the Aldi fans of the world are pro-turkey stuffing potato chips, then I am, too.
